The festive season is upon us and something I am often asked is for gift ideas for gardeners, sometimes by people on the hunt for inspiration for their own lists, and others in search of a perfect gift for the plant-lover in their life. So, I thought I’d compile a list of some of my personal recommendations, all tried and tested in case it was of any help!

P.s. Many of these items were previously gifted to me but only the ones that I truly love have made the cut for this list, the ones that made me grin with joy at receiving them!

BackYard Designs

I have been the biggest fan of BackYard Designs since my allotment adventure began. All of Hayley’s products are designed with gardeners in mind and are just so beautiful and personal. I have everything from slate signs and to-do lists to the beautiful seed boxes, Christmas veg decorations and the flower press and I LOVE it all.

The Rose Press Garden

Lovely Lizzie sells an amazing selection of products which are great for beginners and those looking to try something a little new. Whether you’re looking to gift a subscription, a box of bulbs, a selection of seeds or one of the other thoughtful gifts like a calendar or diary, The Rose Press Garden is a great option.

Shell on Earth

These magic crushed, recycled whelk shells are fantastic for plants indoors and out. I use them to keep the slugs away and to decorate the top of my pots, and as a bonus it helps to keep the moisture in and suppress the weeds. Win-win! Shell on Earth also sell a lovely selection of gifts including propagation tubes, handy houseplant tools and gorgeous succulents.

Acai Outdoorwear

What has gotten me through the cold season so far is absolutely my Acai wardrobe. The thermal lined waterproof trousers, merino wool beanie and adult pac’a’mac are my go-to items at the moment for cosiness on wet and windy days. I love that their waterproofs look nice too.

Green Tones Eco

For happy-coloured pots made from bamboo fibre which look great in the greenhouse and are made to last, Green Tones are my go-to. My absolute favourite thing they sell are the rainbow picnic sets, which are boxed up in the allotment and the flower farm sheds for al fresco dining as well as cups of tea and squash!

A Hori Hori knife

There are a few brands that sell these AMAZING garden tools. Mine is from Japeto and it’s definitely my go-to — what I’d have if I could only have one tool on the plot. Plus you can have them personalised for that extra special touch.
